Centenary College of Louisiana invites all applicants for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Kinesiology Department beginning August 2023. This is a new academic program and we are seeking candidates who are committed to growing the department through development and assessment of quality coursework, creation of hands-on learning and through lab experiences for students, and building realtionships across campus and the community.


Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship in kinesiology, be committed to teaching at a liberal arts institution, and be willing to direct an active research program that involves undergarduate students. Priority will be given to candidates with an interest in biomechanics and related disciplines such as bioengineering/athletic training/etc. in Kinesiology, such as Exercise Assessment and Prescription and Principles of Strength & Conditioning. A Ph.D. in Kinesiology or orther appropriate field is required.


Centenary college is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings, scholarship, and service that address the experience of the underrepresented minorities and contribute to the diversity and excellence of our college community. Opportunities for collarborative research exist at the nearby Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, there are excellent funding opportunities, and the College has a high success rate in securing funds for teaching and research.
